MASK POLICY 2022
Thank you for your patience regarding our mask policy at W3. At this time, we feel that the most suitable way forward is for masks to be optional for the weekend, but we do encourage you to keep using face protection. We respect the decisions you make for your own personal safety - with that in mind, please
review our health policy on testing prior to arriving at the event. We continue to be in an unusual period of time, and we appreciate our community coming together to accommodate differing comfort levels. Above all, we hope you’ll treat each other with kindness and respect throughout the weekend. (see our shared responsibility agreement including code of conduct).

Thank you everyone for registering for Wild Wild Westie 2021! We are now capped and registration for entry passes are closed. If you have plans in place to attend Wild Wild Westie that may include travel, please contact us separately and we will waitlist/consider on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for the overwhelming support and we are thrilled to host you at the event next week!
We wanted to thank everyone for supporting Wild Wild Westie this year. We are expecting an amazing turnout, in fact, considerably more than we originally anticipated. Because of the higher number of registrations, out of an abundance of caution, we are going to implement an event cap at 600 in order to protect the health and safety for our attendees. We will be implementing our existing health policies at the event; accordingly, we ask for compliance from every registered guest.
We are ecstatic to announce that Wild Wild Westie will be returning for 2021. After a year without weekend dance events and where much has changed in the world due to the on-going pandemic, Wild Wild Westie will be returning with a refreshed perspective and updated priorities to explore “New Frontiers”.
Adapting new health policies to ensure we are “safe enough to move forward”
Committing to our vision of diversity, equality and inclusivity as the foundation of our community by implementing actions & programming and learning how to be better.
Texas Community Based
We are taking this year to focus and reconnect with the Texas dance community - we feel that dancing starts with local communities first - and who provide the foundation for our weekend event. We will initially be focused on bringing back Texas-based staff and staff members representing our Summer Swing Triple Crown collaboration events, but we hope to be able to bring back more staff based on attendance. We hope to welcome our entire staff back in 2022!
“Safe Enough to Move Forward”
This year we will be running a vaccine-only event - we will be requiring full vaccination from all of our attendees. More information can be found in our Event Health Policy. This is our solution for providing an environment that we feel is safe enough to re-establish partner dancing at the weekend event level. Although a vaccine only event is not the ideal solution, we feel that, as one of the first events back, an “abundance of caution” approach is the only option we feel comfortable moving forward with.
All attendees should be aware that, while we are releasing our current guidance well in advance of our event, things can change significantly between now and July. We will be regularly reviewing and updating our health policies in consultation with our health policy advisor, Dorry Segrev, MD, Ph.D. We ask for your patience while we navigate these new frontiers and we hope that you, our attendees, will be part of this process.
